Well, Steve Woz said he hasn't found a smartphone that was easy to use in an interview and he still gets all Apple products to test.

that pretty much guarantees that the iPhone will be the uberpwnage

Meh. Get back to me when it has HSDPA what an absolute joke that it doesn't. Please apple, join us in 2007. I hope the iPhone fails in Europe and Asia.
For sure. Stupid stupid Apple for not including HSDPA in Europe http://discussworldissues.com/forums.../confused1.gif

Those phones are not available here. Remember, the US is severely limited when it comes to cell phones and we are a couple of generations behind what is widely available in Europe.
QUite funny though... On all other tech levels you are always in front of us, especially when it comes to prices.

I am not too excited over the iphone... would love to have a N95 though. or maybe its sucessor

Sounds like you do...

Neither network is considered GPRS.

Sprint is PCS.

Nextel is iDEN.

GPS, is GPS, and it is a feature. Cingular is one of the national services with GPRS.
Um... sorry to rain on your parade, but sprint is pcs. Sprint is still CDMA much like Alltel and US Cellular.

Doesn't PCS stand for like personal communications service?
And yes, Sprint is also 3G CDMA, it says on the back of all their phones.

tefraxKedWere 03-06-2007 02:56 PM

They way he was implying it though was that the network was PCS like how AT&T is GSM. Atleast thats how i thought he was.

Just looked it up on wiki, this is what it has to say. Personal Communications Service or PCS is the name for the 1900-MHz radio band used for digital mobile phone services in Canada and the United States. Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), GSM, and D-AMPS systems can be used on PCS frequencies.

Two days left before the iPhone could drop at any time!!

June is ALLLLMOST here and that means the iPhone could drop at any time once it rolls into June. The target seems to be June 11th to the 20th give or take a day but the official word from Apple and at&t (The New Cingular and The Old AT&Thttp://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/laugh1.gif ) is still just “June.”

I’ve got my funds saved up and I’ll start daily calling and dropping by my Cingular store come the 1st to make sure if they start an unofficial pre-order / wait list that I’m near the top. The manager already has said that he knows his store will get a handful of iPhones but I know that it’s the only store in this area and he did say others have been asking about it! I seriously can not wait to get my hands on this thing! It’ll be extra great for me since it’ll be my first camera phone (been waiting to upgrade for like five years, blah blah blah) as well as my first “smart phone” so I know I’ll love it. I’m really hoping having OS X on there will let more stuff work with it, maybe not 3rd party apps but other hardware, such as BlueTooth GPS units talking to Google Maps, etc. Though, there is also the slight chance the phone will ship with GPS built in, I know not everything was done back when it was announced and new features have and will continue to be rolled out.

It’s also been rumored that the data plan is going to be $30, which isn't too bad since it’s unlimited, and I expect to use a lot of data with this phone. However, something I didn’t think about has also been rumored, that MIGHT include EDGE and WiFi, that would totally rock if it gave access to at&t’s WiFi network also, but I’m not holding my breath.

I still can’t make up my mind though about buying the 4Gig unit or the 8Gig unit. Double the space for a $100 more, but I really want to buy the headset and the headset PLUS $100 more might be a bit much. I also plan on keeping my Video iPod (30Gig) and really 1 to 2 Gigs of Loveline can keep me set for almost a month at a time. I figure the rest should be enough for a handful of TV shows or a movie or two and maybe a couple CD’s that I listen to the most.

I guess I’ll see when the numbers come together on the price of the headset and monthly plans...

I’ll make sure to post FROM it once I get it! Oh, and I’m also looking forward to having push email from my Gmail account (Via Yahoo) and being able to use the WebUI from uTorrent anywhere I am to add torrents so they’ll be ready when I get home! http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/smile1.gif

Nokia already has all of these features and more.

UMTS HDSPA support for up to 3.6Mbit/s, GPS and more.

N95 (already out) & E90 (soon to be released). I'm waiting for E90 Communicator.

Don't be ridiculous, the iPhone has nothing to do with features. It's all the looks.

Just like the iPod! For some strange reason, however, I find my self drooling over an iPhone. Acarney, you will have to let us know when you get one and give a mini-review.

It's actually about the interface.

Anyway, look forward to your review acarney. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/smile1.gif I doubt it will have GPS built in, although it might be able to do that sudo GPS thing where it gets your location by calculating it's position compared to the nearest radio towers (assuming Cingular supports this).

Give or take a day!? Then why even give a 10 day time frame for the release? Why not just give a 2 week time frame that you can guarantee it will be released in? Like say June 10th to the 23rd. Apple Huh?

Just for reference, it's 'pseudo'.

The skeptics will soon be silenced, as it was with the iPod nay sayers. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...es/tongue1.gif
