How long does the nameserver update normally take? I registered the site nearly 24hrs ago and it still doesn't work, even if I use the IP address rather than the domain name.

All the emails have come through, including ones from dreamhost telling me the NS update was sucessful. I can log into my site control panel and also upload files via ftp. Nothing shows up on the domain though.

It can take a while for DNS information to update universally, I think I could see my site the same day at home (NTL) but it took days before I could see it at work.

Did anyone else find their page has been automatically been added to Google, etc? I was hoping to get my site finished before I submitted it to any search engines but it looks like a few of them decided to do it themselves before I'd even added any meta tags. Will they ever update that information?

OK, my site still doesn't appear to work after nearly 3 days.

I've got a test index.html uploaded to public_html but my site still shows as some hostingrails test page: http://75.126.57.55/

Did I do something wrong?

Have you changed the details in dreamhost, and then cancled it? Im using their FTP upload software for now, just seems to be the simple and best way to stick it on their site..

Make sure its going in public html, not FTP!
