How long do you charge for the first time on a new phone? I've read the manual, and it says nothing about letting it charge before powering it on. As a matter of fact, it says plug in battery, plug in charger, turn on phone.
My new phone arrived today. I'm excited about using it.... but, I have to have my phone available for the rest of the day, and I only have one SIM card. The SIM card is in my old phone while the new one is charging. T-mobile MDA is the phone. ________ TRICHOMES |

You can safely have the phone on whilst its plugged in and charging, so you can play about with it. Sometimes though it will take 10-15mins before its even possible to turn it on, as the battery needs to hold a certain amount of charge first.
I would however wait until the battery says its fully charged before unplugging it though. |

I've found it strange that in many cases the instructions recommend charging overnight, or 12-16 hours. Even the first charge usually takes a few hours max., and then the charging symbol vanishes. Surely it doesn't matter if the phone is then disconnected from the charger and used as usual? AFAIK the charger is effectively disconnected from the phone if the charging symbol isn't active. Could the instructions be BS?

Could the instructions be BS? All modern chargers effectively "disconnect" once the battery is fully charged - which is basically the same as physically removing the lead once charging is complete. |
