Default Scientists promise not to destroy the Universe!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23844529/?GT1=43001

I have been keeping track of this story for years. I know the probabilities of any of this stuff happening are so small thats its ridiculous....but boy, doesn't it give ya' the cold, late night sci-fi goosebumps?

I first got interested in this after reading a report from the RHIC (years ago) where scientists addressed these scenarios and promised they would not destroy (really, cross their hearts) the Universe!

What a promise to have to make! And isn't it scary we have to make it!

EDIT:

To add even more doomsday fun: some scientists are even talking about creating whole new universes. They promise that these new universes have no chance of expanding in such a way as to swallow or endanger our own. Comforting, huh? [rofl]
