I have been keeping track of this story for years. I know the probabilities of any of this stuff happening are so small thats its ridiculous....but boy, doesn't it give ya' the cold, late night sci-fi goosebumps? ![]() I first got interested in this after reading a report from the RHIC (years ago) where scientists addressed these scenarios and promised they would not destroy (really, cross their hearts) the Universe! ![]() http://www.bnl.gov/rhic/docs/rhicreport.pdf What a promise to have to make! And isn't it scary we have to make it! EDIT: To add even more doomsday fun: some scientists are even talking about creating whole new universes. They promise that these new universes have no chance of expanding in such a way as to swallow or endanger our own. Comforting, huh? [rofl] http://www.casavaria.com/sentido/sci...w-universe.htm |
