Default Not sure how to start...
I don't know what type of meal plan I should start with. Is it even possible to be a vegetarian and go on a low carb diet? I am a vegan but I still eat dairy products/eggs.

Can someone give me a meal plan? I'd appreciate it very much.

Vegans don't eat dairy or eggs... you're a lacto-ovo vegetarian. Eating low carb without eating animal products can very hard, but it can be done. The hardest part isn't what to eat, it's how to get the complete protein you need without too many carbs. Dairy is limited Atkins so you can't use cheese as your protein too often. Eggs will be your best protein friend. Do you eat soy products? Check the Induction list for what you can have and any limits on amounts.

I don't think we have any active members who are vegetarian... if there are, I hope they speak up. I don't think it's easy to eat low carb and not eat meat.

Good luck

Nuts contain protein, but not a complete protein. They are also rather high in carbs (for a low carb diet).

The highest protein "nut" (legume, actually) is peanuts... at 21g protein per CUP of shelled nuts. There also happens to be 12ng carb per cup, 18ng if you have dry roasted. If you're trying to do Atkins, nuts are not allowed until the second phase. That's why they aren't on the Induction foods list.

To compare, 1 cup roasted chicken breast has 43g of complete (all the essential amino acids) protein and ZERO carbs.
