Pressure on the centre of my forehead
 

I've tried meditation on the third eye few days ago. Now it's pulsing and has a slight pressure on the centre of my forehead. I wonder if the third eye is opening right now? However I'm starting to be afraid as I don't want to see things that may scare me. How shall i deal with it?

Feeling pressure in your third eye area is very common when meditating. If you want to close your third eye simply image the area sa a flower and visualise the flower closing.

I'm confused at who is telling people our chakras aren't open.. and that we need to focus on them to "open' them.

They are always open. It takes PRACTICE to build gifts, not opening a "chakra".

We are open or we are dead. We may have muddy or cloudy chakras, but they aren't closed, shut down, or stalled in any way.

Hmmm... I was just wondering what does the third eye do actually, other than seeing entities?

I am attempting to use my third eye to see things other places. I have someone elsewhere in the world who helps me practice; she wears tshirts and I 'see' the color with a high percentage of correctness. I guess right most days. She also holds objects in her hand and I am also quite successful at seeing them. With a lot more practice I might be able to see more, but I have only been aware of my psychic side for a couple of months so I know neither my likely limitations nor what is possible.

May I know how is it like when these images come to you? I don't know if sometimes it's just me imagining, or is it really happening somewhere else? Random images come to me - and I'm always staring into space and lost in my own world. Do u also see entities?

I have never seen entities beyond a few vague glimpses of my spirit guide. It works like this for me.... I start out by visualising a purple wall. Then, a black rectangle in the middle. Lately I have also started to see it as a black circle, opening like the camera thing in the start of the James Bond movies. This is my third eye. On this screen, I can then visualise things - like my friend. And while seeing details is very hard I tend to be able to pick up colors. Like the teeshirt. Some times a number of colors run over the shirt like a rainbow or caleidoscope, then one color settles. Last time my guess was bluegreen, and it was correct. When I guess what she is holding, I tell her to hold the item in her left or right hand, and then I use my third eye to visualise her hand and what's in it. It is harder than seeing the teeshirt but I have been right more than half the time, which is astounding considering she picks a random item from the room. Some times I don't know what I see but can still describe it. Like when I saw 'two ball-like things, dark blue' and it turned out to be a kind of scissors with balls instead of the normal loops you hold. I have never seen scissors like that with my real eyes. They were dark blue, too.

I use the third eye to communicate with my spirit guide too, since I am not hearing psychic sounds at all yet. He holds up pieces of paper with a word or two on for me to read. It is hard to get the words because I can't focus well on the letters, but I get meaningful communication most of the time.

The 3rd eye is our pineal gland. Rene Descartes, the 17th century scientist, called the pineal gland "the seat of the soul". It very well could be. I get a tingling around my forehead a lot. When I sat in circles I used to get images from spirit to form messages, but I wasn't all that good at it and I found it hard to seperate my thoughts from images in my third eye. Now I prefer to do breathing meditations and sometimes chant meditations. But I still get the tingling round my third eye. I also get tingling around the top of my head.

I too have begun to feel a faint pressure between my eyebrows lately, now and then.

In my opinion nothing.

Chakras if I remember correctly are said to be our life force energy, therefore they're always open and are located in our etheric body.

There is much talk of the need in opening and closing chakra's to communicate with those in the spirit world. I personally don't bother with them; it's my experience that chakras are not necessary to my attunement and blending with spritual energies for communication. So it will be the same for other people surely!

When we receive information from spirit, using the senses of the clair's; it comes via our minds first either as images or thoughts.

I am pretty sure that there are several definitions of what the third eye is, and how it is used. I don't see a conflict in the third eye being a chakra, and 'closed' - I see it more as a question of learning how to use it.

Does the third eye help you see the past events of a certain place?

So far I can only see in the present.

However when I focus on my third eye I tend to get tired easily and headaches. When I fall asleep, images and words get in my head so much so that I'm actually disturbed by it

No the 3rd eye doesn't really "see" it is a place in your brain that you can "teach" to see, hear, sense, etc. It's really hard to explain.

People think that we are using our other senses...Say smelling perfume. But do you often ask someone "OH! Do you smell that?" and they don't. It is because it's not our nose.. It's in our mind.

Seeing the past is the same. We are energy beings. Here many lifetimes. We can access our past just as we can see our potential futures.

Is the third eye then a centre where our senses related to the spirit world are centred? So our brains control our physical senses and our third eye contains our spiritual senses?

hmm, I'm trying to find words to try and explain it. They show me in pictures. It is akin to a muscle, just like our arms and legs. As we "use" it, we build it stronger. The pineal gland has fluid in it and it conducts electricity and this electricity sparks a different sense. That's all I can do to explain it lol.

Seems lame in words. It's pretty cool the way they show me.
