That's a tough spot. I hope things work out for you Lord_P. When i was reading your OG post my thoughts were that I would be upset if I were in your situation. Reason being is that this is your girlfriend, she should want to be hanging out with you and you should be her main motivating factor for hanging out at your place. It sounds like your roomates are complicating the issue. IMO both of them are a bit out of line, especially considering you are relitevly new in the relationship, the roomates should show some consideration and back off.

Another thing is that you don't really have a lot of control over whats going on. Your GF should be putting you first, if she is not i'd back off a bit in the relationship and see how she responds. You should get an idea of what kind of girl this is by determining how she handles the roomates.

I have experienced this kind of behavior before in my relationships. I'd come home to find my GF hanging with roomies... turned out she was a social parasite... she left most of what she touched dry and dead (except my penis, she was pretty good with that)

I haven't read all the posts but Lord_P, are you at University or something?
Living on your own is far far better than living with others - though at University it was great fun, after living on my own for the past few years I couldn't go back.

If the girl you're dating is really outgoing and gains friends quickly like that, I think I know the type, and it doesn't really matter who you hang around with she's going to create friendships. I think some people compulsively make friends as some kind of defense mechanism - the more friends I have the less likely anyone is to dislike me! Something like that.

Anyways, if the girl is hot and you want to stick with it, you've gotta put up with having her attention divided. I have a very good friend who is exactly like you, protective and dating an extremely outgoing girl (she has like a million facebook friends), and it caused a LOT of tension between them. But he learned to keep his jealousy under control and she learned to stop auto-flirting with every guy, and now they're gonna get married. So it could go all the way.

If you don't care for that, at least keep chill until you've gotten a chance to hit it a few times, then you can drop the "Look, you're here because I want my wizard staff in your mana pool, so if you want to hang with my roommates take it elsewhere" conversation.

You said it yourself that you only hit on low self-esteem girls.[thumbdown]
Jesus, are you completely incapable of seeing when someone is and isn't being serious????

Plus, they try harder in the sack! Will is wiser than he lets on! [yes]
True, but your sack has to try harder as well, so it's levelled out.

Thank you, sir.

You know, I sometimes worry that went I post circles around the slower members of these forums that my subtle insults fire 30 thousand feet above the heads of my audience, but you have re-ignited some confidence.[thumbup]

You're welcome. I know how you feel. 99% of the time I'm pulling someone's leg but it just goes over their head. Do you think a lot of people just don't have a good group of friends to have some banter with in the real world or something?

Or maybe it's just because you're both not as funny as you think.

I'm not going for funny, I'm going for dry and sarcastic. Unfortunately things are taken a bit too much at face value on here.

Which also means I'm not as funny as I think. Ah, **** it. Let's have a beer and forget the whole damn thing.

I think you are funnier than you think.

You are more funny when you are serious (insulting mutelight is when you are at pinnacle).

Personally, I find your particular brand of bottom humour a bit vulgar.

Sorry to break it to you guys - but we're laught in at you - not with you

As a general rule, if you act like an idiot, you'll be treated like an idiot - so either consider the way it may come over, or use the occassional smilie as an indicator - like this [rolleyes]

Says the 50 year old man that plays with computers, posts on forums with an average age of 20 years his junior, has a narrow taste in women (literally), and misunderstands even the most basic physical concepts at times...

But, yeah, similes (and spell check) are pretty useful for making jokes.

The glass house is sending stones it seems. [surrender][thumbdown][cursing][help][rofl][shocked][yes][rolleyes][yawn]

OMG, smileys.

As the only real man on these forums, with a pen!s the size of the Eiffel tower,
IŽd say beat the "friend" up, make him cry mommy !

Then afterwards explain to your girlfriend you were afraid of loosing her

Gee, thanks, Will - nice to see you've been paying attention - however I must object to the physics bit.
Was that juxtaposition deliberate - a joke on your part, or simple irony?
Not sure what you mean about a prison throwing stones, though?

You say this, but the funny thing to me is that people take it seriously. People on here act like I should actually care what they, a complete stranger thinks about their opinion.

I sometimes wonder about that, myself - like Will, above.
Say what you want, let others respond as they will, and go from there.
If you're going to deliberately act like a plonker, they shouldn't be surprised if that the way they get treated
However, some OPs are serious and I expect they'll be rather annoyed at some of the purile responses they get!

There's an old expression "A man is judged by his friends" but I also use a different version "A man is judged by his enemies".
