and respect towards others.
Something that seems to be sorely lacking in the majority of posters in this thread.

Especially that hormonally charged person who called people a "piece of ****" for standing for something.

So what's the solution? Just let these idiots issue threats without shoving something back into their faces?
Yes! Its the Christian thing to do!

Or we could just nuke the f*ckers back to the stone age!

So if I started a Facebook group saying your mother was a ***** (purely for my own amusement mind), that would be ok by you?
Would i like it? No. Will i threaten to kill you? No. Do whatever the **** you want. That's the whole point. Making drawings is NOT illegal last time i checked. And you're doing this in a non-muslim country for crying out loud, why some cavemen across the ocean should care? Are you muslim? Fine, don't draw your prohpent. Am i a muslim? No, so i can draw whatever i want. I am not doing anything to personally harm you or endanger your well being. So don't fukcing make death threats to me like some insecure violent phaggot.

All people who deliberately set out to offend someone else are standing for is being a ****.

Nobody is arguing against any of that......at least I'm not. But what I don't agree with is people deliberately fanning the flames by setting up a FB group aimed at nothing less than pissing Muslims off.

You are aware of the fact that probably 99,99% of muslims won´t call out any death threats and a large procentage of them probably just don´t give a crap.
You´re kinda making it look like everyone of them is just out to start trouble.

So if a group of religious people, no specific religion made a statement that Big Ben is offensive to them due to its phallic likeness you would be ready to tear it down? I mean, the very fact that it still stands is considered an offense.

That's all well and good, but we also have to put up with wankers like these....

It's not the same thing at all. That FB group's sole purpose is to get Muslims' backs up.

It's an old cliché but it's true, two wrongs don't make a right. Just because a small minority of Muslims choose to do something that we consider offensive, it doesn't give us the right to offend all Muslims.

That´s a pretty egocentric way of thinking
Yes maybe but it's kind of true. Respect should be earned, not something that you should do on behalf of humanity's kindness or whatever crap someone may come up with.

Anyway, of course we all have our different opinions, just stated mine.

I'd like to simply use a qoute that their defence lawyer used:

If you believe in freedom of speech you have to accept that some things will be said that you will not like

And frankly, some of us like to draw.

So if a stranger accidentally bumped into you in the street you wouldn't expect them to say sorry? That's having respect. Not all respect needs to be earned, there is simple human courtesy.

Insulting religions is the height of jackassery, but it is a form of expression. Drawing Mohammed getting boned by Uncle Sam is pretty tasteless, but no one deserves to have their lives threatened over it.

The supposed majority of nonviolent, peaceful Muslims need to step up and say they're okay with other people making themselves look like idiots at Islam's expense, and they need to help marginalize the whackjobs on their side. Once that happens, you'll see fewer people so ready to insult them.

So if a stranger accidentally bumped into you in the street you wouldn't expect them to say sorry? That's having respect. Not all respect needs to be earned, there is simple human courtesy.
Simple human courtesy is saying you're sorry first, and not expecting the stranger to apologize.

SO, we dont have a single Muslim member here yet there was one hell of argument about it. Thats the ridiculus thing about all religions they cause more wars and death than any other reason throughout history. The world would be better off with these stupid far fetched stories called religions.

Bungle, what he said. Anyway, I might expect it but I wouldn't mind if they didn't say it. Maybe they had a bad day or whatever, besides if I confront them for something tiny as that I might end up in situations I don't want to be.
