I've had plenty of friends who are gay, I've shared houses with 3 people who are gay but I tell you what it's never stopped me using the phrase, "That's gay!". If it's apt, use it. You just use the phrase for emphasis. You hear a fairly wussy song, that song is gay. You hear a fairly stupid statement, that's retarded. You go out in the sun in July and it's ****ing hot, it doesn't mean the heat is violating one of your orifices you are just using the word for emphasis.

You need to stop being so sensitive. There is a lot worse going on it the world than people saying things like, "gay" and, "retard" I suggest you use your energy trying to solve those problems first.
thats akin to saying that an assault case should be solved or investigated because there are alot worse crimes that need to be investigated that need more energy. I think every problem should be adressed some more serious than others.

how one decides to speak is up to them, I am merely trying to shed some light on the potentialy negative aspects of commonly used language.

It is irelevant to refer to other slang words such as "f**k" because they do not refer to a particular group of people, and are already generaly considered foul and rude. If gay or retard was treated the same as "f**k" then there would be no need to post this thread

OK enough.

Us mods and admins will decide when someone oversteps the sensible boundries with respect to laungauge or phrasing.

Words which are clearly unacceptable (swear-words etc) are mostly filtered by the forum software already. To try and make up a list of what is or is not acceptable with respect to "second-tier" language would be frankly impossible (especially given that most of the identified words also have perfectly legitimate usage).

We ask you all to be mindful of your language and phrasing, think of those you might offend before hitting the submit button - and above all report anything you feel is generally offensive (remembering to consider context and intention of a post).
