because it's small meaningless **** that ruins the movie I wonder if the decline of Roman civilization can marked by the point at which people started going to the Coliseum and saying, "What was with all that what was the lions motivation? Why did he want to eat a Christian in particular and for that matter it's not very realistic what is a Lion doing in Rome anyway? And those Gladiators where's the story? I want background I want character introduction." |

God damn! Suspension of disbelief! How many threads are we going to get like this? What were you expecting? Altman, Coppola, Goddard maybe? It's a summer blockbuster for God's sake you go in you pay your money, you turn off your mind and you enjoy some good old fashioned visceral entertainment. |

Post of the year! [thumbup] I like them thin, slender, petite. I don't like overly chubby/fat girls. I hate flab. I hate cellulite and girls with cellulite should come with a disclaimer. Post of the year! [rofl] |

Btw.
Movie was a disgrace. I wasn't expecting an Indie Art Film but I wasn't expecting Michael Bay to completely make the film into a banal mess of bad dialogue, no story line, countless useless scenes and a million plot holes. He also tried to recreate (ultimately failing miserably at) a relationship between man and machine. A perfect example of this is Terminator 2 and 3 where you can actually feel the empathy. In Transformers it doesn't work at all and is horribly corny at the same time. |

Raiders of the Lost Ark Jurassic Park The Lion King Forrest Gump All summer blockbusters, all infinitely better than transformers wouldn't you agree? So why does a "summer blockbuster" have to be mindless? Surely they can have action AND good story/characters? And speaking of Rome, Gladiator had masses of violence and action, and a great story/character development as well! |

I didn't think that Jurassic Park or Star Wars Episode 1 were better at all But you believe Transformers was better than Jurassic Park? Why? Oh, and anyone who can explain what their plan was at the end of the movie (i.e. why did they go to the city) gets 4 cookies. |

Anyone who did not expect that has never seen a transformers cartoon Michael Bay should go back to making TV ****ing commercials. At least he was good at that, ****s up anything longer than 30 seconds though. And if you're going to say that it's Transformers and that's what you should expect or the it's what the fans wanted and that they are happy then maybe any Tranformers fan has a high potential to be a stupid loser who is culturally inept and still plays with his Trasformers toys even though he is over 30. "Transformers was always a childish and banal cartoon made for ten year olds, lets expect the exact same thing out of the movie" |

Star Wars (all of em) Couldn't you just have mentioned Spiderman or X-men as an archetype of a good blockbuster. |

OK, well only episodes 4-6 I agree lol. Imho Transformers offered the same + it managed to bring back some good memories from the audience's childhood, so imho it did achieve quite a bit more. |

I'm so with you on some points but including Jurassic Park and Lion King in the list was a grave mistake. Spiderman and Spiderman 2 can go on there. Though defending Jurassic Park, its got 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and The Lion King has 92%, which are pretty good! I suppose this all boils down to personal preference, some people are going to love a film no matter what, like someone was saying they waited their entire life for this film. |

I suppose this all boils down to personal preference, some people are going to love a film no matter what, like someone was saying they waited their entire life for this film. In regards to fans, you can actually disregard their opinion on the matter, be it music or film. Since their infatuation with the subject obstructs their perception, you can actually see the glee when they post or write. I have even seen it in some reviews by professional reviewers, you can instantly find if the review is valid or not. |
