He wasn't just pushing her face first into a bowl of water. He was pinning her down to the counter while he nearly submerged her into a sink full of water. The whole "waterboarding" label isn't appropriate, but being pinned down and having your head submerged by a screaming ape who beats you regularly is still terrifying.
